My Toyota Corolla tail lamp went out, got a new replacement one super fast.
Just recently I was pulled over by my local highway patrol officer. I wasn’t speeding, I wasn’t driving like a maniac, I just had a busted tail lamp. My Toyota Corolla, my trusty car for numerous years had a busted tail lamp. First thing I thought was dang, I am getting a fixing ticket and now I have to go to court and waste a day doing that, just so many things can go wrong when something so little causes a problem. After getting my ticket the first thing that came to my mind was where can I get replacement toyota corolla parts? I thought now I have to call around and get prices and then deal with shipping, again just a headache for something so simple that could have been noticed and fixed right away prior to getting my ticket. Just my luck, now on to Google to find my parts.
The first thing that I typed in was replacement toyota corolla parts what do you know, there was other 20 million results for what I wanted. I didn’t need all of those 20 million results, I went to the first 3 websites and they all had what I needed. So I browsed around these websites and read up on a few reviews. One website was well ranked, but had prices about 20% higher than what these other websites had. I looked at these cheaper websites that had the parts I needed but they had some negative reviews. The only problem with these cheaper places was shipping time; I was in a hurry to get it but to save $20 I can definitely wait the extra 3 days. So I placed my order and paid; now all I can do is wait to get my item.
Once I got my replacement toyota corolla tail light I was lost. I had no idea what to do and how to replace my tail lamp. So I did a simple Google search and viola, there was over 30 videos on Google on how to replace my toyota corolla tail light. So I simply grabbed a phillips screw driver, my 10 mm socket, and about 15 minutes of my time. I got my tail light replaced; now all I had to do was get my ticket signed off. I went to my local highway patrol office, and what would you know, the same guy who gave me the ticket signed off on it. I went to traffic court, showed my correction notice, paid my fine and was on my merry way within 2 hours. Everything went smooth, I got my replacement parts for a great deal and life moves on. I had a great experience with this company and hope that people had an easy time getting replacement parts just like me.
Morgan Plus Four & Plus Eight Sportscars
The present-day Morgan has, fairly accurately, been described as the only vintage car still in production. Like all bon mots this tends to be an exaggeration, but there is no doubt that the philosophy of Morgan design is entrenched in the 1930s. Although the engines, the performance and the details receive regular attention, the chassis, ride, road holding, body style and construction are old designs with old fashioned results. The modern Plus Eight Morgan, with its 155bhp Rover-made 31/2-litre engine and five-speed gearbox was good for nearly 130mph with acceleration to match. Weather protection noise-suppression and refinement do not match this, however.
Morgan machines have been built in the same Malvern Link factory, under the direction of the Morgan family, since Edwardian times. Up to 1936, however, every Morgan was a three-wheeler, with a single, driven, rear wheel – and three-wheeler production carried on into the early 1950s. In 1936, the first four-wheel Morgan, the four seat 4/4, was revealed in a form which would be very familiar to present-day Morgan buyers. The sliding-pillar independent suspension used today was on that first 4/4, but it had been on the 1910 three-wheeler too! The Z section side members of the chassis frame are still a feature and the bodies, erected by Morgan themselves, were of simple steel folding on an ash wood frame. Engines of the first 4/4s were side-valve Fords. Other pre-war 4/4 engines used were overhead-inlet, side-exhaust Coventry Climax 1100s and overhead-valve-converted Standard Ten engines of 1,267cc. After the war, the standard unit was used for a time, but when Standard decided to follow a ‘one model’ (or rather a ‘one-engine’) policy, Morgan had to think again. Because of heavy Standard they decided to upgrade the 4/4 by fitting the big and heavy Standard Vangaurd unit of 2,088cc, along with a proprietary Moss gearbox.
The Plus-Four, as the new two-seat car was named, arrived in 1950, and soon made a name for itself in competition. Compared with the little 4/4 the new car was very much faster and more rugged. Even so, once Triumph had developed their TR2 sports car, it made sense for Morgan to use the tuned-up 2-litre engine. This, then, was the definitive Plus-Four, a car lighter and more accelerative than either the Triumph TR2 or the Austin-Healy 100. During the life of the car, Morgan made few concessions to modernization, although they improved the body style with a cowled nose and a sleeker tail. Disc front brakes were standardized late in the 1950s and when Triumph increased their TR engine size to 2,138cc Morgan followed them. For a time too they offered a ‘Competition’ model with Lawrence-tune TR engine and light-alloy body panels. In the meantime, from 1955, the 4/4 was re-introduced as a Series II, powered by Ford’s side valve 1,172cc engine and matching gearbox. The 4/4 continues to this day, uprated regularly with the latest Ford engines – over-head-valve units being adopted in 1960.
With Triumph dropping the four-cylinder engine completely in 1967, it was clearly only a matter of time before supplies to Morgan ran out. From the autumn of 1968, then, it was no surprise to see that the Plus-Four was equipped with the 1,600cc Ford Cortina engine, and that the exciting Plus-Eight, was added to the range. This car is powered by the ex-Buick Rover 3 ½-litre V8 engine. When Rover introduced a manual gearbox, but it has itself been dropped in favor of the ‘new’ Rover 3500 five-speed box. Many features of the Plus-Four are evident in the Plus-Eight models. To take account of the greatly increased performance since the first Vanguard engine was fitted in 1950 (there is more than twice the power nowadays) the wheel tracks have been increased and fatter tires and wider wheel rims introduced, along with better and more powerful brakes. Interior appointments have been improved, but the cockpit’s size is little larger than it was a quarter of a century of a century ago. More important than anything – the car’s character had been maintained. Orders exceed the ten-per-week production capability and waiting lists stretch ahead for years.

New York Drivers License FAQ
New York drivers have a lot to think about to ensure that they follow the rules of the road, but there are a few questions that are asked by drivers of a variety of vehicles. This includes area taxis, commercial vehicles, NY limousines, passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and boats, any of which has a long list of rules and regulations which must be adhered to in order to avoid a traffic violation. Here are some answers to New York driver’s license-related frequently asked questions:
What is the legal limit for alcohol consumption?
In New York, your blood alcohol content (commonly called BAC) cannot be over .08% if you plan to drive. You cannot put a “how many beers” type of scenario with the legal limit question, because this number is different for everyone. One person may reach the legal limit with just one drink, while others may drink three or four and be under the limit still. It depends on a lot of factors, from your age and weight to gender and even your medical history.
Does being under 21 make a difference if I am arrested for DUI?
There is a drastic difference made for underage drinkers versus adult drinkers where driving under the influence is concerned. New York’s zero tolerance policy dictates that you cannot have the slightest presence of alcohol in your system if you are underage, meaning instead of the normal 0.08% the number cannot be higher than a flat 0%. Violation of this rule will lead to extended loss of driving privileges, monetary fines, probation, and sometimes more serious consequences with a conviction.
Can I use the same license to drive any type of vehicle?
No, New York has specific license types that define what you can drive legally. For instance, some licenses are geared toward commercial vehicles, while the standard types are designated for private passenger vehicles, New York airport limousines, motorcycles, or taxi drivers. Head to your local driver’s license office if you plan to drive anything other than a traditional passenger-type vehicle to make sure that your license covers it, especially if it is a very large vehicle (such as a tractor trailer) or boat.
How long do I lose my license for if I’m convicted of a crime?
That depends on the crime, and with most crimes your driver’s license is actually not affected at all. You are not able to drive while in jail obviously, but once you are released your driver’s license is the same as before. The only thing that happens sometimes is that the license expires, which needs to be fixed before you can legally drive. It costs money to renew your license, but this is far less costly than paying for driving without a license in New York.

MG Midget Overhead Cam Type Sports Cars
After the original small MG sports car, the M-Type, had made its mark, there was never much doubt that it would have successors. Even so, nobody could have forecast that there would be a continuous and recognizable strain of MG Midgets in production until 1955, when the last of the TFs was finally replaced by the first of the Midgets built between 1931 and 1936 were all designed around the same basic mechanical layout (only the very rare R-Type single-seater racing Midget had all- independent suspension), with progressive development of the four-cylinder overhead camshaft engine originally designed for the humble little Morris Minor of 1928. All had narrow, flexible, channel-section chassis frames with the rear suspension, three- or four-speed manual gearboxes without synchro-mesh, cable brakes, centre-lock wire wheels, and a fly-off handbrake. Most of them had narrow, starkly -lamps, most were open sports two-seaters, and all were enormous fun to drive. Bodies were cheap and simple, with ash frames supporting pressed or hand-formed steel panels; creature comforts were few, and not demanded by customers.
The M-Type’s successor was the short-lived D-Type of 1931 and 1932, with 27bhp and a three-speed box, of which only 250 were built, but it was followed by the J1/J2 models of 1932-1934 (2,463 built in two years), and finally by the PA and PB cars of 1934-1936 (which sold to the tune of 2,526 cars. Compared with the D-Type , the J-model had 36bhp, a four-speed gearbox and rather more rakish styling, which included the use of cutaway doors to allow driver and passenger more elbow room. Like the D-Type, J1 and J2 models, the original P-series cars of 1934 and 1935 (retrospectively known as PAs) still retained an 847cc overhead camshaft engine, but now allied to a three-bearing block and crankshaft. There was no more power than before, but this was rectified for the PB of 1935-1936, which had 939cc, 43bhp, and a top speed of nearly 80mph.
Other MG models were built during the same incredibly prolific period, under the direction of Cecil Kimber, but other Midgets like the C-Type Montlhery, J3, J4, Q-Type and R-Type models were all strictly for competition, and the complex series of Magnas and Magnettes all had six-cylinder engines of the same basic design, related to the original Midget ‘fours’.
MG’s problem, at Abingdon, was that although success upon success was being gained by the competition cars the road cars were becoming more and more expensive and (by Morris Motors standards) more and more specialized. Lord Nuffield, who personally owned MG throughout this period, saw that sales were dropping steadily, as losses began to mount. In 1935 he sold MG to his corporate Nuffield Group, were they came under the direct control of Morris Motors. Immediately the competitions program was cancelled, and a new and cheaper-to-build Midget was put in hand. The last PB was built in 1936, when it was replaced by the entirely different TA model.
It is worth noting that although the MG Midget was the most popular British sports car, in fact and in legend, of the early 1930s, a total of only 8,474 overhead-camshaft engine road cars were sold in the full MG automobile factory full series production run.

Maserati Bora Supercar Auto Speed Demons
It was Citroën, which had taken a controlling interest in Maserati in 1968, who provided the inspiration, and the impetus, for the mid-engined Maseratis built in the 1970s. The Bora evolved around a 4.7-litre V8 engine, which Maserati had steadily been refining since the days when it had powered the lusty 4 ½ -litre two-seat racing sports cars. Mid-engined cars were not new to them (their first rear-engined ‘birdcage’ racing two-seater had been used in 1961), although they knew little about the unitary-construction techniques which went with them. The Bora, revealed at Geneva in March 1971 was at once a gamble and a technical triumph. Like other supercars to come from the Modena region (such as the soon to follow Ferrari Boxer and Lamborghnini Countach), it followed a predictable trend, with mid-mounted in –line engine, five-speed gearbox and transaxle bolted to it, and a wedge-shaped two-seater body.
The performance- 160mph was a perfectly usable maximum speed-was sensational, and the road holding and response for experienced and skilful drivers was also superb. Not that the Bora was by any means an excuse for a road-going racing car, not by any means. Air-conditioning and electric windows were standard, along with adjustable pedals and many other creature comforts. Styling was by Giugiaro (Ital Design). Citroën influence, incidentally, was obvious in the fully powered braking circuits, with the zero-travel brake pedal.
To supplement the Bora, Maserati next revealed the Merak, which once again owed its existence to Citroën. The kernel of the Merak was the V6 engine, a Maserati development which the Italian firm could never have afforded to put into production without a contract also to supply it to Citroën for their SM coupe, In effect the V6 engine (3 liters in the Merak but 2.7 litres in the Citroën SM) was developed from the ageing Maserati V8, but was very different in detail the overhead-camshaft drives, for instance, were taken up the centre of the engine, between one end pair and the centre pair of cylinders. The angle between banks, at 90 degrees, was unusual for a V6, but allowed the V8’s production tooling, such as it was, to be used in another application.
The Merak itself looked virtually identical to the Bora, except in detail, but because the engine was substantially shorter than the V8, Maserati managed to insert a pair of almost useless ‘jump seats’ behind the existing front seats. Even with only a 3-litre engine installed, the Merak had a maximum speed of around 140mph, together with much improved operating economy. Maserati struck financial difficulties soon after their agreement with Citroën had been dissolved in 1973 and stopped trading for a time in 1975. With government finance, Alejandro de Tomaso made a take-over bid and restored the factory to activity during the year. Boras and Meraks were still being made at the end of the 1970s, in developed form, the Bora boasting a full 5-litre engine and the Merak more power than ever before. Some Citroën influence was still present – both cars having the Citroën brakes, the Merak having SM’s gearbox and the Bora having hydraulic adjustment to seats and pedals. The Merak incidentally, had inboard rear brakes (Citroën SM style) while the Bora’s were outboard. These two cars were joined by a new front-engined Quattroporte four-door saloon.

When should I use a smog check coupon?
The smog check coupon is great if you want a price reduction for this check, and especially for the states where this check is mandatory twice a year, it is better to apply this method. This way, you will save some serious money, and you will also be able to take your car to the authorized checkers.
If you drive carefully, you will be able to reduce the fuel consumption. Check the road in front of you, and anticipate the changes, so you would avoid breaking suddenly and strong acceleration. With a reduced consumption of fuel and with the smog check coupon, you will be able to reduce the costs of maintaining your car, and the great results obtained to this test will allow you to sell the car with an increased price. A good result to this test means that you have taken care of your car, and that the buyer should be happy about this care.
Always shift the gears at the right time. Shifting at 2500 rotations per minute is optimal for gasoline, and 2000 rotation per minutes is recommended for diesel. A vehicle driven with 60-70 kilometers per hour in the third shift will use more fuel than the consumption in the fourth shift.
Respect the legal speed limits
Besides avoiding fines, respecting the legal speed allows you to preserve your engine and to consume more fuel. Moreover, the authorized companies will be willing to give you the smog check coupon easier. Try to avoid useless weights, as the consumption is greater when the car is heavy. The air conditioning and the chargers for the laptops and mobile phones consume a large quantity of gas, so it is better to use them only in cases of maximum emergency.
The majority of cars are sold with many variants when it comes to engine, type of gas and consumption. Try to choose a smaller engine that consumes less. If you are a fan of healthy living and unpolluted environment, you might think about buying a hybrid or an electric car. Buy an efficient car from the consumption point of view. The new cars now have labels that help you to know the pollution coefficient. Moreover, those types of cars could bring you smaller taxes, access to the smog check coupon and less money spent on fuel. Even if a car of this kind is more expensive, the investment will be covered after a few years.
The majority of people that consider buying such a car are worried about the big prices of those cars, and they are also unhappy with the reduced technical performances of a car of this kind. However, the most performing cars of this kind have engines of 80 HP, being comparable with the gasoline or diesel cars. There are also the new concepts representing an ensemble of technologies and settings of the car made to diminish the fuel consumption and the emissions. Besides being environmental friendly, those cars need minimum maintenance, and considering the reduced number of tests needed, you might play less for an emission test with the smog check coupon.

Justin Bieber’s New Cadillac CTS-V
Teenagers know and love Justin Bieber for his feel good pop tunes but they are going to know him for something different: car enthusiast. Justin Bieber purchased a new set of wheels and customized it to his specifications. Bieber purchased a brand new Cadillac CTS-V and tricked it out with items that only he can have. The Cadillac CTS-V coupe is a two-door sedan that is a popular vehicle among celebrities. A brand new Cadillac CTS-V retails at $62,360 and has a four and a half star rating. When Bieber wanted to personalize his car, he decided to go the best in custom cars. Justin Bieber enlisted the help of West Coast Customs to create the ultimate vehicle. The custom car specialists added a few unique touches that will turn heads.
Bieber’s new Cadillac CTS-V was fully enhanced with suicide doors, a black matte paint finish on the car’s exterior and added features and items in the interior of the vehicle. The pop star nicknamed the vehicle the “Batmobile,” which possesses every detail of its namesake. In addition to the unique suicide doors and paint scheme, the customized Cadillac CTS-V also had Justin Bieber’s personal logos. The car features 22-inch wheels that are blacked out to complement the overall color scheme.
The customization of the Justin Bieber’s Cadillac was done for a television show that features West Coast Customs. Nissan NV200 Taxi – Will It Sell?
On September 15, 2011, Ford produced the final Crown Victoria, ending the car’s dominance over the cab and police markets. Drivers have tried to fill this gap with vehicles ranging from hybrids to minivans, but thanks to the efforts of the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission, the NV200 may become the new taxi standard.
The commission’s Taxi of Tomorrow Competition was set up to find a new vehicle that could better serve customers while reducing environmental impact and running costs. Last May, the commission announced Nissan’s NV 200 was the victor, beating out Ford’s Transit Connect and Turkish commercial vehicle specialist Karsan’s V1. The prize is a 10 year contract for the city’s taxis, currently a fleet of 13,000 vehicles covering 500 million miles per year.
The taxi version of this commercial van has several new features which put it ahead of the competition:
- Space for four passengers and their luggage
- A flat floor, sliding doors, entry steps, and grab handles for easy entrance and exit from the vehicle
- Curtain airbags for front and rear passenger seats, and forward-mounted airbags for front row seats
- USB and 12v charging ports, built into the doors to encourage passengers to remove smartphones and other devices as they exit the cab.
- Overhead reading lights
- Navigation system
- Adjustable driver’s seat that can be leaned back even if there is a partition installed
A couple other features carried over from previous NYC taxis that may not be standard for other buyers, including passenger controlled rear-seat heat and air conditioning and a rear-seat entertainment center. The NYC model also has a transparent roof that lets tourists look up at city’s skyscrapers without having to hang their heads out of the window
New York also has a rarely-enforced noise ordinance specifically prohibiting the use of a horn unless there is imminent danger. To combat this, a “low annoyance” horn is being developed for production taxis that will soften the sound while flashing a light to help officers identify an offending taxi.
The NV200 shares its platform with the Cube and its direct-injection 2.0l four cylinder is based on the design used in the Versa and Juke. Its 25 mpg fuel economy was the best in the Taxi of Tomorrow Competition, and nearly double that of the Crown Vic.
What about the rest of the country? Although the New York City version seems like an ideal replacement, there are a couple caveats:
The Prius and Escape Hybrid have had some popularity as taxis because they offer excellent fuel economy in city driving conditions while regenerative braking saves on friction brake repairs. Meanwhile, many city groups are pushing for hybrids because they dramatically cut CO2 emissions. Without a hybrid version, the NV will face stiff competition from these vehicles. However, an all-electric version planned for 2017 may help Nissan regain this market share.
The Karsan V1 made it to the finals of the Taxi of Tomorrow competition in large part because it could accommodate wheelchairs without modification; adoption would have effectively made New York’s entire fleet handicap accessible. Currently, just 240 of the city’s 13,000 taxis are required to have handicapped access, but a Federal investigation into the matter was launched shortly after the Nissan won the taxi competition. If the court decides the availability of wheelchair compatibility demonstrated by the V1 means more taxis could be handicapped accessible, NYC’s current policy would violate the Americans With Disabilities Act. This could have a national effect on taxi requirements, and without handicapped capabilities, the NV200 would automatically be excluded from part of the market.

Gearing up for Green – Are Green Cars Better for Motorists?
There’s been a lot of talk recently about ‘green’ cars and their benefits to both the environment and wider society and the drivers who run them. But what are ‘green’ cars and are they really a better option?
Green cars can refer to different things. Totally fuel free cars are ‘plug ins’, they are oil free and cut out the emissions that are linked with global warming as they are fuelled by electric battery cells.
An example of an all-electric car is the Nissan Leaf, recharged via the electric grid. It’s economy compares to nearly 92mpg, making it almost twice as efficient as the highly energy efficient Toyota Prius hybrid, which runs at an average of 50 mpg. Certainly, most green cars have far higher efficiencies and equivalent miles to ‘the gallon’ than traditional diesel and petrol cars.
This efficiency translates into far cheaper running costs in terms of energy and with the cost of oil and petrol ever rising, this is a significant win for many drivers.
When it comes to cost ‘green’ cars, whether electric or hybrid, tend to cost roughly the same as their petrol or diesel running counterparts when new but it is less easy to get them on the second hand market at good prices, as they are still relatively uncommon compared to traditional petrol cars.
Running costs of ‘green’ cars tends to be good – they are generally built with high technical specifications and known to be tech-led cars, rather than design-led. This leads to their maintenance being good and ongoing faults low.
Additionally, most of these cars will come with good warranties new and have a few years’ servicing built into their purchase price. It’s worth looking around for the best deals and entering into some haggling, particularly in the current economic climate.
The government offers grants and help to the industry to invest in greener technologies and subsidies, which should percolate down to the customer when buying on the forecourt.
Grants are sometimes available for consumers too and it’s worth looking out for these at the government’s annual budget announcement period, as new schemes may be introduced to encourage greener driving.
An example of this is the reduction and even lifting of road tax in the greenest fuel cars and electric or hybrid cars, which can be a significant cost advantage to drivers over time.
There are other advantages for drivers too. The reduction in pollution is a huge bonus and affects local communities and families who live and work in built-up areas. Green cars and technology help to build a sustainable future. Choosing a green car shows a commitment to halting CO2 emissions on a local level and ensuring a better future for the next generation.
The effects of pollution are serious even on a local level; the fine airborne matter released from diesel and petrol cars can contribute towards respiratory diseases, cancer and lung damage.
Chemicals such as nitrogen oxides aggravate conditions such as asthma and also cause acid rain. Also, with Sulfur Dioxide, the lungs can be damaged and its organic compounds are toxic and possibly carcinogenic.
Drivers can also seek to maximise the ‘green’ credentials of electric or hybrid cars by driving in efficient ways – such as accelerating gently, driving smoothly, rolling down windows rather than using the air conditioning and avoiding overloading the car by keeping the boot as empty as possible.
Certainly, it is likely that the drive towards greener cars is set to continue, as both government and public pressure insists that a more sustainable future is built. The current British government has already begun to establish its environmentally conscious credentials and many people are hoping to see incentives and legislation that continue to build on the options and availability for green car usage.
